What's up everyone! It has been a fortnight since I have written and once again that's on me. But it's been a good lil bit here in Harrisonburg! Hit 6 months as a missionary not too long ago and it was also my mom and Elizabeth Florence's birthday so it's been a very eventful last couple of days.
We had some great lessons over the last couple weeks! We had a great couple of ones with our boy Yusuf who's gonna be baptized on the 8th. He plays basketball for his school and when we invited him to play with us at some point he said he needs some good comp if he is gonna actually come. I took that personally Yusuf. Bouta dunk him like Shawn Kemp in a couple weeks though so that's gonna be lit.
We still are teaching our friend Cindy who is literally so awesome. She can't help but ball her eyes out whenever she comes to church and we read 3rd Nephi 11 with her yesterday and that was probably the most spiritual lesson of my mission. Cindy is probably one of the most genuine people I have ever met and her lessons are always peak.
We also have been having lessons with our African friend Moses for the last couple weeks and he was a pastor back in the Republic of the Congo and he just yells at us that we need to pray and fast for like an hour. We read over Jesus's baptism and asked him why he would travel all the way to John the baptist to be baptized and he just somehow relates it back to fasting and praying everyday. Internet Rex get your homies locked in.
This week we also had a snow storm that was forecasted to be the craziest storm in the last century. Everyone was hyping it up to be the worst thing ever and it just turned out to be like 1 foot. Thing is though there ain't no plows out here in Virginia so I have not left our apartment complex for what has been 2 days now. So yeah yesterday Elder Mulholland and I prepared the sacrament with the only bread we had being Texas roadhouse rolls from Uncle Mikey. Yesterday since we couldn't leave our apartment we just scheduled about 8 phone call lessons and had lesson after lesson all day cause literally nobody could leave their house either so that made it go by fast.
Also just got transfer news and I will be staying here in Harrisonburg. So grateful because I love this area.
Spiritual Thought
3 Nephi 11
14 Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.
When we read over this in our lesson this week we talked of how we truly do have the same opportunity as the Nephites to feel the nails on our Savior's hands and know that Jesus is the God of the whole Earth through the restored gospel and how much of a blessing that truly is to live in a time with that fullness.
Love yall!
